Robin ‚Fifflaren‘ Johansson will attend the SLKS.dk-LAN next week with his team Adastra. The team is the only european topteam from Sweden and was able to win the last Clanbase Eurocup. Afterwards the team parted with the north american clan zEx and stayed without a clan. Fifflaren is 18 years old and lives in Grums, Sweden. In his interview with readmore.de he talks about his team, the expectations for the next events and swedish CS:S scene.
readmore.de: What were the reasons for the separation from zEx?
Fifflaren: Things didn’t work out the way we were told. Promises that they didnt keep, to make it short. Nothing happend at the organisation and we decided to part ways with zEx.
readmore.de: Your manager said in a statement, that he intends much with the project Adastra. How does the future of the team look? Why don’t you join simply a large Multigaming clan?
Fifflaren: We dont want to make the same mistake like we did with zEx, if we are joining a new organisation, we want to know for 100% that they can stick to their word. In the meantime we are going under the name Adastra, and maybe getting some sponsors along the way.
readmore.de: How do you see your team in a european comparison? Could you present your team for our readers?
Fifflaren: Sure, we have our clanleader Jonas „nordQvist“ Nordqvist, who is 21 years old and from Hörby, Sweden, he’s our main AWPer.
Fredrik „vizzion“ Nilsson is 20 years old, from Eslöv, Sweden. He is the In-game tactical leader.
Joacim „majk“ Kroon is 20 years old, from Karlskrona, Sweden, majk is our little teddy bear 🙂
Mathias „maths“ Jönsson is 21 years old and comes from Eslöv, Sweden, maths is our little rookie in the team, but we like him anyways.
readmore.de: After your win of the Clanbase Eurocup, the performance of your team wasn’t really strong in the next matches, whats the reason?
Fifflaren: After the Eurouup we lost olander, because he had to look for school and get inactive, so we had to get a new player for our lineup. I think we are still working on the new lineup a bit, but don’t worry, we should be just as good as before at SLKS #10.
readmore.de: Adastra will be present on the SLKS-LAN, which
expectations do you have for this LAN?
Fifflaren: We have very high expectations from this lan, mostly on our selves. We did a really bad effort at HW-lan and we will do our best this time to secure that number one spot in the CSS tournament. I know that SLAP.dk-LAN is a very good LAN, I don’t have anything bad to say about it. Let’s just hope that it’s as good as last time.
readmore.de: For the first place on the SLAP.dk-LAN it will give 2,500
Pounds or 3,700 euro. As e.g. estimates you this prize money compared with other eSports disciplines like CS?
Fifflaren: It’s of course less money on Source then it is on CS 1.6 but can’t blame them, more clans are going to play CS 1.6, so there should be more money in it.
readmore.de: What’s your preparation for the LAN like?
Fifflaren: Practice, practice, pratice!
readmore.de: What are your favorites for the tournament?
Fifflaren: Of course I see ourselves as one of the big favorites, but I also see Logitech.fi and n!faculty as big favorites, that’s my Top3 aswell
Adastra, Logitech.fi and n!faculty, in no particular order.
readmore.de: „With n!faculty, there will be a German representative on
the SLAP.dk-LAN. What do you think about that team?“
Fifflaren: Yeah, some of the guys on that team attended SLKS #9 with Animosity. I think we started out on the wrong foot at that LAN, but I think that they are great guys and I wish them best of luck at SLKS #10.
readmore.de: The ESL started two months ago with the IPS. a European
CSS-tournament with a prizemoney of 2000 euros. With Insignia Cadre and CSA, there were only 2 „non-german speaking“-Teams. What is the reason dfor that? Why did your team decide to abstain from the qualification?“
Fifflaren: Bad advertising I guess. We didn’t participate because we had to get ready for some LAN events.
readmore.de: How do you see the future of CSS?
Fifflaren: I dont know actually, but I hope that it will get bigger. That’s all I have to say about it.
readmore.de: In Germany there is a large competitive situation between CS
1.6 and CSS. What’s the situation in Sweden like?
Fifflaren: People in Sweden hate source, so there isn’t any competition about it. Source sucks, that’s final. (laugh) Kinda like that…
readmore.de: Are there any other events for you in the next couple of weeks?
Fifflaren: EuroCSS-LAN right now, I don’t know if we are going, but if we get some money for it, we will go. That’s all right now, I guess.
readmore.de: Thank you for the interview. Your chance for some greetings.
Fifflaren: Best of luck to all the teams that will attend SLKS #10 and good luck to the rest that plays CSS seriously.
